Major Plastics Organizations Links with the PIA

Other major plastics organizations are represented on the board of Trustees of the PIA, to ensure the goals of the PIA remain unique, complement and do not compete with the other plastics organizations.

These are:

Society of the Plastics Industry (SPI)
Plastics industry trade association, representing suppliers from machinery, auxiliary equipment, components, moldmaking and materials sectors, as well as processors.

American Chemical Society (ACS)
The American Chemical Society is a self-governed individual membership organization that consists of more than 159,000 members at all degree levels and in all fields of chemistry.

Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE)
Association of plastics scientists, engineers, educators, students and others interested in the design, development, production and utilization of plastics materials, products, and equipment.

Nypro University Online
Nypro University’s Plastics Technology Certificate Program aims to provide students with practical knowledge of plastics processing. There are a total of eight (8) classes that make up the Nypro University’s Certificate Program.

Plastics Pioneers Association (PPA)
Society for industry leaders with long records of service, which supports industry-wide education programs; and promotes the study and improvement of plastics, science, engineering and technology.

American Mold Builders Association (AMBA)
Since 1973, AMBA has been the leading industry trade organization serving US mold builders, manufacturers of aluminum or steel molds for the purpose of molding plastic products, components or parts. Professional society supporting manufacturing education, keeping manufacturing professionals up to date on leading trends and technologies

The American Chemical Society (ACS)
A self-governed individual membership organization that consists of more than 159,000 members at all degree levels and in all fields of chemistry. The organization provides a broad range of opportunities for peer interaction and career development, regardless of professional or scientific interests. The programs and activities conducted by ACS today are the products of a tradition of excellence in meeting member needs that dates from the Society's founding in 1876.

Knovel provides leading science and engineering books and databases embedded with productivity tools in one online service.

California Film Extruders & Converters Assoc.
Association of individuals interested in the development of the California plastic film and related industries.

German Plastics Museum (Deutsches Kunststoff Museum)
The German Plastics Museum shows the itinerant exhibition called "The Plastic Smiths". In 2004/2005 presentations in Leipzig, Düsseldorf, Bremen and Bonn are being prepared.
